Welcome to our Valley Federation located in the beautiful Peak District. I am delighted to introduce myself to you as the Executive Head teacher across both schools, having secured the role from April 2022. 

Our Federation successfully joined Hope Primary and Edale C of E Primary together in September 2019. Linking both schools together has enabled us to celebrate the individual strengths of each and enhance the provision across both. I have been lucky enough to have been involved with the federation from its infancy and can say with all honesty that both schools are fantastic places to be. I will never tire of my commute down Winnats Pass or back up Mam Nick and our children are incredibly lucky to learn and grow in such an incredible location.

We have a dedicated staff team at both sites (with some staff who work between both schools) as well as a strong and committed governing body who have challenged me to:

• lead our Federation to be thriving and positively recovering from the implications and after-effects of the pandemic;

• enable every child in our Federation to fulfil their academic and personal potential;

• ensure our Federation has a clear, established identity;

• maintain strong leadership, performance management and governance across the Federation:

• secure a strong financial position for the future.

My mission is clear!

We currently offer specialist provision in music, PE, Forest Schools, outdoor learning, Tai Chi and mindfulness and are working hard to ensure our whole curriculum is broad, balanced and well suited to all our pupils. I look forward to uploading lots of new content to this website this term to give you a full flavour as to what is happening in our schools. As well as The Valley Federation website, both our schools have an individual website where, over the coming months, we aim to showcase Hope and Edale's individual identities, too.
