Welcome to this website, which introduces you to the Valley Federation of Edale Church of England (VC) and Hope Primary Schools. 

The Valley Federation consists of two local primary schools, in Edale and Hope, both rated ‘Good’ by Ofsted who, after a year of collaboration, decided to become a formal Federation in September 2019.

Our Federation enhances the opportunities to share good practice across both schools for the benefit of all our children. It intends to create new and exciting curriculum experiences, allowing greater opportunities for creativity and innovation, increasing the resilience and cost-effectiveness of both schools. The formation of the Federation will ultimately lead to overall school improvement and raised standards for all pupils. Our Federation helps to secure the long-term futures of both schools.

A Federation means that our two schools continue to both serve their distinct local communities, with their own separate features and benefits. Both schools also have a shared approach and vision, shared leadership (with one executive headteacher and one governing body for both schools) and a single curriculum across the schools, underpinned by the same policies and procedures.

- there is a clear strategic vision for the schools, setting ethos, direction and values

- the leadership of the schools are held to account for their educational performance

- there is oversight of financial expenditure, making sure money is well spent

and, in all their activity, they balance, support and challenge, and take responsibility for senior leaders’ well-being.
